What does "by Definition" mean in this context? It means: - Permanent is the characteristic Tattoo (skin marking) MUST possess which differentiates it from other markings on or in the skin: a defining element: its nature: its essence without which it is not Tattoo: lasting as long as the skin lasts; not removable by ordinary means. Tattoo will necessarily be Permanent. It is not optional for the tattoo. We understand that intuitively. Its not a tattoo if it is not permanent. If it is removable by usual and ordinarily available methods it is a temporary tattoo. Tattoo pigments have permanence because
the pigment is crystal,
