"Life experience in tattoo and piercing has taught us things no outsider would
know: such as: all-in-all
infections and healing problems are caused during aftercare not contracted at
the shop. There is no denying this and no valid argument to support the
opposite.
Merely giving the client directions and aftercare products and sending clients on their way
is seized upon by those who know little about T&P so they can impose
their own rules and regulations prescribing in detail everything you do and
everything you cannot do.
Preempt your clients' healing and check up on
them on a regular basis during the healing process. Don't abandon your clients to
their own devices with that brush-off line: 'Call us if you have any problems'.
They don't know anything, what to look for, and a good portion won't call.
Nothing is likely to go wrong anyway so a call is a sure bet to impress your
client with how much you care for them.
It would benefit everyone to emulate the care that many health care
professionals are known to give. Call your clients."
