Fill the unit half way with water, add some soap (any kind, a little green soap is OK) to the water in the Sovereign unit).
Pour some distilled water in a cup and place the cup in the unit (perhaps add a little alcohol). Do not use cleaning agents in the cup itself.
Do not use cleaners which show marked alkalinity or acidity. Read labels carefully making certain your cleaner is recommended for ultrasonics. Use of strong agents will almost certainly pit, corrode and damage your unit.

THE SPECIAL THERMOSTAT AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLS THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER ALLOWING THE WATER TO GET HOT ENOUGH TO AID IN CLEANING BUT PREVENTS IT FROM REACHING A HIGH TEMPERATURE. THE SOLID STATE CIRCUITRY IS PROTECTED BY THE THERMOSTAT WHICH WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHUT THE UNIT OFF WHEN MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE IS REACHED

The unit itself should be sprayed with a hard surface disinfectant between uses.
Cover the top control bar with
plastic barrier film.

There is an On/Off button on the top right. To prevent contamination use the Unimax On/Off foot-switch which will leave both hands free and keep your unit cleaner.
