aftercare washing for piercings.
It would be best healing if a fresh tattoo does not have to be washed.
Tattoos should be washed only when initial care is inappropriate for best
healing
or when blood has dried on the surface.
There is no evidence to support the use of
anti-bacterial soaps
on a fresh or healing piercing or tattoo
merely because they contain anti-bacterial properties.
Suggested from a 1999 Study of wound healing at the Royal Oak Hospital
we can conclude that there are fewer healing related problems associated
with tattoo than in the normal population. A person is less likely to get
an infection getting tattooed than from a normal abrasion.
