The double filter series provides an additional filter and housing.
Adding a sediment filter provides 5 micron prefiltration to extend the life of the EPCB filter by removing sediment that could plug up the filter prematurely.
The water first passes through the 5 micron sediment filter, then through the 0.5 micron EPCB filter and finally along the Ultraviolet lamp disinfecting the water.
